Detect imbalances in the body through
holistic view of the condition of the body
In English, "Meeting a doctor" equals "observe the disease" in Chinese. The origin lies in Chinese medicine, where the diagnosis is about how a doctor observes "the person in question who does not feel well". When there were no blood samples or other instruments, all you could rely on was:
1. Listening to the patient's experience of symptoms.
2. Feel the patient's pulse and other parts where he‘s not well or in pain
3. Observe and look at the patient's tongue and faceial complexion, for example, people with weak kidney systems usually always have bags under the eyes or one is looking at, for example, how the eczema developes.
4. Smell patients. Different imbalances give away different fragrances. E.g. breath, people who have a lot of heat in the stomach always have bad breath.
The doctor's ability to properly diagnose a patients condition is the most important component for achieving good treatment outcomes. This ability separates a good doctor from a less good one. Dr Minqi Yang combines her experiences from both Chinese and Western medicine as she diagnoses her patients.
Dr. Minqi Yang listens to what you tell her about your symptoms and ask questions. At the same time she performs a pulse diagnosis. That means she feels your pulse on three points along both wrists. Then she looks at your tongue and performs a tongue diagnosis. This way she is give a holistic view of your body condition on many different levels.
