Yin and Yang & Balance in the body
Yin and Yang are metaphors describing the opposition phenomena. Yang stands for light, masculinity, activity, the sky, etc. While yin stands for darkness, femininity, passivity, the earth etc. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, yin and yang are used to classify phenomena, objects, functions, etc. It is one of the most important teachings in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, you use the teachings of yin and yang both in explanations of physiological functions and in pathological conditions. Restoring the balance between yin and yang, i.e. recreating an inner harmony in and between the internal organs, is the most important treatment principle in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
